Promotional event of Assam tea held at Tezpur University

TEZPUR, March 28: “Hi Tea”- a generic promotional event of Assam tea, was organised by Unplanned Events- a corporate shows and event planner company in collaboration with Tea Board of India at the premises of Tezpur University on Saturday. The event was inaugurated by Dr Dhanpati Deka, dean of Students Welfare, Tezpur University in the presence of Professor Manuj Kumar Hazarika, Food, Engineering and Technology, Tezpur University; and Amrita Chakraborty, assistant director, Tea Board of India.

An exclusive exhibition on varieties of tea like oolong, CTC, orthodox, and green tea, live tea art, tea tasting, a musical show, games, and a quiz segment on general tea trivia also was organised which witnessed around 2500 people attending the event.

Later, an elaborate tea tasting ceremony was also carried out where a team of research scholars including Aftab Ansari (Physics department), Tridisha Bordoloi (Food Engineering and Technology department), Sonam Kumari (Food Engineering and Technology department), and Prachurjya Kumar (Mass Communication department), among others of the university took part.
