SIVASAGAR, Feb 26: Raijor Dal activists in Sivasagar staged a protest on Thursday in front of the DC office, alleging that the administration gave preference to Kushal Duwori, a BJP leader, over Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi in government programmes.
The activists termed Sivasagar District Commissioner Mridul Yadav as an agent of the BJP and alleged that the constitutional rights of MLA Akhil Gogoi were violated by the administration.
They pointed out that the invitation letter for the distribution of land pattas to landless families, issued by the District Administration, included the name of Kushal Duwori but excluded MLA Akhil Gogoi. Similarly, the invitation letter for the Assam Darshan Scheme did not carry MLA Akhil Gogoi’s name, despite him being the actual representative of the Sivasagar constituency electorate.
