NAGAON, April 20: Reaction to a remark of Assam chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma over a recent rumour that former Congress minister Rakibul Hussain will quit Congress party and will join Asom Gana Parishad soon, the former powerful Congress leader Rakibul Hussain rubbishes the claims by saying that he will never quit the Congress party.

“I will never quit Congress at any point,” Hussain said, adding that the chief minister knew him and his loyalty towards the party very well.

“The Congress party made many mistakes during the last few years and I want to correct all those mistakes on the party floor,” Hussain added.

Referring to the resignation letter of former state Congress party – Ripun Bora, Hussain said that he supported 80 percent of his allegiance while he had objection against the rest.

Bora lifted a blunder by kicking off the party floor, Hussain said, adding further that the Congress party would be stronger in the state soon again.
