Ranoj Pegu inaugurates ‘Kritagyata Sewa Kendra’ in Sivasagar

SIVASAGAR, July 29: Education minister and Guardian minister Ranoj Pegu on Friday inaugurated the Kritagyata Pension Sewa Kendra in Sivasagar. The minister in his speech, said that the government has opted for digital governance so that the people can avail of the government services 24 hours. There is no need to get the help of an aid or dalals in obtaining a driving license, trade license, land records or many other documents which are now available through on-line applications. In Mission Basundhara, 8 lakh applications for land settlement have been settled. Mission Sadbhavana app will help settle unsolved problems that had been put in the backyards for years. The new government has begun 12 new digital sewas in the Assam HS Education Council. The minister said that the Dispur Secretariat will be paperless from October 2.
The Kritagyata Portal will facilitate easy and paperless services to all retirement employees from now on, which, the minister added, will be linked to other services like Mission Sadbhavana.
The minister apprised the new resolutions adopted by the state government in the field of school education. The Education department has decided to remove Social Studies and introduce two subjects making the total subjects seven but the assessment will be made on only five subjects.
He said that the government has decided to introduce English as the medium of instruction from class 3 to class 12 in schools to increase students’ efficiency in the subject so that our students will have an added advantage in national level examinations. He refuted the charge that there is no conspiracy to overlook the importance of mother tongues. The minister said that there are nine different languages (Media) coexisting side by side in schools of Assam. There will be schools where there are parallel mediums, dual mediums in at least ten schools in every district.
Debabrat Saikia, leader of Opposition, thanked the government of Assam for its consistent effort to bring administration closer to ones’ doorsteps. The new pension delivery system through the new app Kritagyata is a good step in this direction. The government will rethink the NPS system and expect a good response in this regard. He urged the guardian minister to switch on the solar electric installation in the offices.
DC MN Dahal termed the day as a very important day for all employees who are retired or on the verge of retirement. Now, the employees no longer would need to run from pillar to post for his retirement benefits. Now, everyone can obtain the updates on his pension application.
The meeting was attended by IS Schools Kamaljyoti Gogoi, Dr Saumerjyoti Mahanta, principal, Sivasagar Commerce College.
