TEZPUR, May 11: Indreswar Bailung, an inhabitant of Tezpur Gharpora Chuburi area and a retired police officer in Assam police passed away on Thursday morning at a private nursing home here owing to his old age ailment. He was 81.
Born at Sibsagar-Kalugaon area on March 1 in 1942, late Bailung had a brilliant career. After culminating his academic life, he joined the Assam police and presented a good show as a police officer in different parts of the region at different critical situations. For his brilliant performance during service life, he became DSP and retired as an additional SP in North Lakhimpur in 2000. He survived with two sons, namely Gopal Bailung, Bidyut Bikash Bailung and three daughters, sister-in-law and grand-children.
His last rite was performed this afternoon at Doulguri Shantidham crematorium.
