RFRI conducts training programme for IFS officers

JORHAT, Jan 13: The Rain Forest Research Institute (RFRI) at Sotai, Jorhat, organised a three-day training workshop for Indian Forest Service officers from January 10 to 12.
An RFRI official informed that the training programme on ‘Role of Forestry in Sustainable Development of People’ was inaugurated by Jorhat MLA Hitendra Nath Goswami and was attended by 21 officers from 12 states.
The training workshop covered wide range of topics such as bamboo, agar, medicinal plants, agroforestry, shifting cultivation, etc., by eminent resource persons and the participants were taken to Kaziranga National Orchid and Biodiversity Park and Kaziranga National Park as part of the training programme.
The valedictory session was chaired by Awani Kumar, retired PCCF, Uttar Pradesh. RK Kalita was the course director of the training workshop, the official concluded.
