Robbers target Nagaon PNB branch, thieves run away with bag full of cash

Nagaon, May 2: A robbery incident occurred at a Punjab National Bank (PNB) branch in Nagaon, where a man stole a bag containing cash from two employees of a rice mill who were at the bank to deposit the money.

The incident happened on Thursday and was immediately reported to the police. The victims, employees of Aditya Agro Foods, a rice mill based in Kathiatali, had travelled from Sarupathar village in the Kampur subdivision of Assam’s Nagaon district to deposit Rs 45 lakhs cash.

However, while they were waiting their turn, a man sitting behind them allegedly stole the bag and fled. Police are currently investigating the incident and have identified the suspect from the CCTV footage. They are also examining the contents of the stolen bag to verify the victims’ claims.
