Royal Global University inaugurates laboratory

GUWAHATI, Dec 30: The inaugural ceremony of the Optometry department laboratory at Royal Global University commenced with a welcome speech by Sudeshna Roy, assistant professor, department of Optometry addressing Dr Kasturi Bhattacharjee, medical director of Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya, academic coordinator and head, department of Orbit, Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeries and Oculofacial Aesthetics and Cataract and Refractive Surgery at Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya, India, the guest of honour and Dr Sumita Sarma Barthakur, medical officer (Academics), followed by felicitation of the dignitaries.
Prof SP Singh, vice chancellor, Royal Global University formally welcomed the guest with gamosa, memento and a handmade painting. Prof Ankur Ganguly, dean, Academics & dean, Engineering at Royal Global University, Dr Diganta Munshi, registrar at Royal Global University, Prof Rohit Singh, pro vice chancellor at Royal Global University and school coordinator of RSMAS Dr Lopa Das, head of department of Nursing, MLT, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Radiology and OTT, Smita Das, assistant professor, department of Optometry, Lipika Kalita, assistant professor, department of Optometry, Bhayolina Sarma, assistant professor, department of Optometry, and faculties of other departments graced the ceremony with their presence.
At the end, Dr Kasturi Bhattacharjee and Dr Sumita Sarma Barthakur addressed the students and gave a brief overview of the field’s potential.
