Rs 40 lakh stolen from residence of advocate

SIVASAGAR, Oct 28: A thief took away Rs 40 lakh from the safe vault of an advocate’s residence in Melachakar while he was away.
On Thursday, advocate Prabuddha Kr Bora, after returning to his residence, opened his almirah to discover that the money had disappeared. The thief took the keys of the almirah from another room and opened the vault and locked it back again after taking the amount away.
Rosy Gogoi, DSP, Sivasagar informed the media that forensic experts are on the way to Sivasagar from Guwahati to investigate the case.
The advocate filed an FIR in Sivasagar PS on Friday (Case no 402/22) under section 380 IPC.
