Sarbananda inaugurates PNB Digital Banking Unit in Bongaigaon

GUWAHATI, Oct 17: Union minister for Ports, Shippings and Waterways and AYUSH Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated a Digital Banking Unit of Punjab National Bank in Bongaigaon district at Chapaguri Road.
After the central inauguration of Digital Banking Units of Punjab National Bank by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 75 districts of the country synchronising with 75 years of Independence of India which has been celebrated under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated the Digital Banking Unit in Bongaigaon.
Nirmala Sitharaman, the Finance minister also has emphasised on government’s effort on continuously encouraging the banking sector to ensure that the benefits of digital banking should reach every nook and corner of the country in a customer friendly manner. Digital Banking Unit is a specialised fixed point business unit or hub housing certain minimum digital infrastructure for delivering digital banking products and services.
Minister Sarbananda Sonowal offered his gratitude to the Prime Minister for his goodwill to cover Bongaigaon within Digital Banking Unit services.
Minister Sarbananda Sonowal also attended a meeting held in Birjhora Public Library in connection with ‘Har Din Har Ghar Ayurveda’ under the Ministry of AYUSH.
Minister Sonowal spoke on the benefits of AYUSH namely Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathic treatments. He calls upon the public to follow the natural treatment like Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, Homeopathic, etc., treatment for our wellbeing.
“Before 5000 years, Ayurveda was the way of treatment for diseases,” he said.
He thanked the district administration and health officials of Bongaigaon for arranging the programme.
In both the programs, Phani Bhusan Choudhury, MLA, Bongaigaon LAC, Nabadeep Pathak, deputy commissioner, Bongaigaon were present. The deputy commissioner gave the inaugural speech at the meeting of ‘Har Din Har Ghar Ayurveda’ at Birjhora Public Library.
Health officials of AYUSH and District Health Society, Bongaigaon, Patanjali Yoga Committee, Bongaigaon also attended the meeting.
