Satriya Sangeet workshop begins at Nagsankar

BISWANATH CHARIALI, July 8: A five-day special summer workshop on Satriya Sangeet commenced on Tuesday at the office premises of Agnigarh Nat Ghar in Nagsankar.

The event is being organised by the Assam Satra Mahasabha Pariksha Parishad in collaboration with Agnigarh Nat Ghar, a prominent socio-cultural and literary organisation in the region.

The workshop was formally inaugurated by Lochan Bora, president of Agnigarh Nat Ghar and a noted Bhaona artiste.

Satriya expert Nijumani Gohain attended the event as a resource person.

Fifty students are participating in the workshop, which aims to promote and preserve the rich traditions of Satriya culture.

The inaugural session featured addresses by Nijumani Gohain and Ritumani Bora.

Pallab Hazarika delivered the vote of thanks, while the proceedings were conducted by Sharat Kumar Bora, secretary of Agnigarh Nat Ghar.

The workshop will continue till July 12.
