JORHAT: Police arrested Babul Gogoi (45) on charges of sexually assaulting a minor girl.
A police source said that Gogoi had been arrested under sections 376 A 354 (A) of the IPC, along with sections 6/8 of the POCSO Act.

Babul Gogoi, a small shopkeeper, allegedly lured the girl by offering her packets of chips.

The Mahila Samiti of the area raised the issue after learning about it from an Anganwadi worker. Later, the father lodged a complaint with the police.
