Shikhadri Mahanta achieves Dr Brock Faulkner 04 fellowship

NAGAON, April 27: Shikhadri Mahanta, a student of the University of Texas has achieved Dr Brock Faulkner, 04 fellowship for ‘Biological and Agricultural Engineering Spring 2024’ for her accomplishments in research and other achievements.

She is the daughter of Jagannath Mahanta and Dipali Mahanta of Fouzdaripatty in Nagaon

Mahanta was a student in the department of biology and agricultural engineering and pursued her studies in sustainable agriculture, post harvest losses, cotton processing and air quality. He also participated in the 68th Annual COALS Convocation organized by the Agricultural and Natural Resources Internship Programme (ANRP) recognition and also awarded with CIRTL Practitioner certificate (2023) as well as scholar certificate (2024).

The ANRP was established in 1990 and has provided students with opportunities in private policy development at state, national and international level. She was able to learn about agricultural policy on an international scale and also got the opportunity to intern at the committee of World Food Security at the food and agriculture organization of the United Nations during summer last year.

Similarly, she was selected for CIRTL Practitioner Certificate (2023) and CIRTL Scholar Certificate (2024) for conducting classroom activities and developing a new teaching methodology in collaboration with a faculty member. She has conducted her research on undergraduate engineering education.
