SIVASAGAR, Oct 23: Sibsagar College, one of the premier autonomous institutions will begin its closing ceremony of the year-long platinum jubilee celebrations on October 31 and will end on November 2.
On Saturday, speaking on the programme to the media, Dr Prakash Kotoky, president of Governing Body of the college, said, “The closing ceremony will be an attempt to honour those who had sacrificed so much for the college during the initial period and to showcase the achievements of the college over the last 75 years.”
Dr Prafulla Kalita, principal, Sibsagar College, urged the media houses and through them the people of the town to take part in the celebrations. Dr Kalita also briefed on the programmes that have been completed so far since November 2, 2021.
Dr Utpal Dutta and Dr Dilip Das gave a detailed account of the programme. Sarbananda Sonowal, minister of Ayush, Port & Water Transport, government Of India, will be the chief guest of the programme while Dr Ranoj Pegu, minister of Education, Assam, will inaugurate the open session.
