SIVASAGAR, Dec 28: State information commissioner Dr Samudra Gupta Kashyap attended a workshop on ‘Right to Information Act’ at Sukapha Bhawan on Tuesday as a resource person. The workshop was attended by the heads of all departments of Sivasagar district.
The clauses of the Act were explained and analysed by the commissioner in detail for about 3 hours. The state information commissioner answered the questions raised by the heads of several departments of the district on the RTI Act.
“The RTI is a tool in the hands of the people and it is required to be handled carefully and the queries should be answered promptly to the applicants.”
The workshop was attended also by ADC Dr Mandira Barua, additional superintendent of police Dr Debajit Nath and other departmental heads of various departments.
