Guwahati, 14 Oct: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the death of singer Zubeen Garg has intensified its focus on individuals linked to a yacht party reportedly connected to the case. Special DGP of CID and SIT chief Munna Prasad Gupta confirmed that two more Assamese NRIs from Singapore, Abhimanyu Talukdar and Tanmoy Phukan, have arrived at the CID office for questioning on Tuesday, 14 October.
Sources indicate that Phukan had booked the yacht, while Talukdar, president of the Assam Association in Singapore, had been informed about the party in advance. Both are cooperating with investigators, and their statements are expected to clarify the events surrounding the yacht party and its possible link to Garg’s death.

This brings the total number of Assamese NRIs questioned by the SIT to seven. Earlier this week, Rupkamal Kalita, Jalongsat Narjari, Parikshit Sharma, and Siddharth Bora appeared before investigators, with three of them subsequently providing testimony in the CJM court.
On October 13, another Assamese NRI, Bhaskarjyoti Dutta, reached the SIT office and underwent interrogation. Authorities continue to pursue leads from all attendees to reconstruct the circumstances of Garg’s death and determine any direct connections to the yacht gathering.
