SIVASAGAR, Nov 30: The Sivasagar district election officer, Sugata Siddhartha Goswami, on Wednesday, briefed the media on the ongoing Special Summary Revision drive specially to attract the young voters (between the age of 17 and 21 years) by organising special camps in the educational institutions of the election district within November 30 and December 3 next, as per the guidelines prepared by the Election Commission of India.
The new voters will be facilitated to fill Form-6 and will also educate them to go for the online mode in the ECI nvsp.in, voterportal.eci.gov.in, and the Election Commission of India’s voter helpline mobile app.
In each LACs, Amguri – 103, Thowra – 107, and Sivasagar – 108, one dedicated AERO has been appointed for the special camp. Nodal officers have been appointed in higher secondary schools and colleges for the camps and a meeting was also held with the nodal officers in the election office on Wednesday. The district election office has already conducted two special camps each in Thowra and Amguri and three in the Sivasagar constituency.
There are 168 numbers of PS in Amguri LAC, 1, 25,067 male and 62797 female voters, and 1 TG voter. In Thowra LAC, there are 145 PS, 59078 male, and 58268 female voters while in Sivasagar LAC, there are 199 PS, 75787 male, and 76934 female voters. The total number of voters in the election district is 395129 of which 197134 are male and 197994 are female voters. The number of AERO appointed in the district is 30, supervisor is 31, and BLOs is 512.
On November 9, the Integrated Draft Electoral Rolls were published, the period for filing claims and objections was between November 9 to December 8. Special Campaign dates are November 26 & 27 and December 3 & 4.
The final Photo Electoral Roll will be published on January 5, 2023.
