NAGAON, June 26: Srimanta Sankaradeva Sangha and Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankardeva Viswavidyalaya have come forward to help the flood victims during the ongoing flood situation in the state. Sankaradeva Sangha, Institutional Values and Best Practices Cell of the University, the National Service Scheme and the Alumni Association of the university jointly organised a flood relief distribution program in Dighaldari, Meteka Durgajan area of Raha.
The district administration also cooperated in the programme. They distributed essential items like rice, dal, potatoes, biscuits, salt, soyabean, sugar, muri, detergent, soap, phenyl, sanitary pads, vegetables, flattened rice, milk and water bottle to a total of 350 families at Raha Dighaldari, Meteka Durgajan along with clothes for the people of different ages. They also distributed snacks like sweet patties, buns and drinking water, etc., among 200 people in the Dewbali area of Phulaguri.
The program was conducted in presence of Babul Bora, chief editor of Srimanta Sankaradeva Sangha & director (Finance and Planning) of MSSV, Shekharjyoti Neog, assistant librarian of the university along with other employees-students of the Sangha and the university. Many vendors also willingly contributed and supported the relief distribution programme.
