TEZPUR, Feb 14: The Taekwondo team of SSB designated in Goroimari near here in Sonitpur district bagged silver, bronze, gold medals participating in the 38th Senior National Taekwondo Competition that was held with a three day programme from February 10 to 12, 2023 at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Puducherry.
In the event, Sabita Ramchiary, Sima Kanjia and Tachin Begum won three gold medals each while the team of Abhijit Kalita, Amit Pradhan and Binod Das bagged bronze medal and Abhijit Kalita in singles won silver medal. Vidyalakshmi Devi, Jaimala Devi and K Daina also won gold medal in Poomsae.
The team bagged a total of five gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals and Seikh Abdul shouldered the responsibility of coach.
On the other hand, the women’s tug of war team of Rangapara College in Sonitpur district brought laurels to the college by winning the championship in the 11th All Assam Inter-District Tug of War Competition held on February 11 and 12 last.
