St. Xavier’s Degree College organises award ceremony

TEZPUR, May 10: The St. Xavier’s Degree College has organised its academic award ceremony at the college campus in Balipara-Sonabil in Sonitpur district.

During the programme the college authorities awarded meritorious students for their excellent performance in various academic and co-curricular activities throughout the academic year.

Welcoming chief guest Rev. Fr. Francis Fernandes, SVD, the staff, students and Principal of the institute, Rev. Erenius Toppo, SJ highlighted on the role played by the institute in ushering a better academic environment in the area, thereby producing academic batches of brilliant products from the institute since its inception.

Rev. Fr. Francis Fernandes honoured the award winning students and gave away the medals and certificates for different categories like academic toppers, most regular students, ideal students and most active students. Fernandes emphasised on how one should shape his life through education gained in their life, which reflect his or her responsibility towards the society and sense of belonging.

The event was conducted by the IQAC cell of the college and coordinated by Anurag Hazarika. Among others Rev. Fr. Xavier Lakra, SJ, Superior of the campus and Fr. Anand K Kerketta, vice-principal of the college were also present on the occasion.
