Stolen gold & silver ornament traders arrested at Nagaon

NAGAON, Sept 19: Based on a secret tip off, police from Haibargaon town outpost, busted a gang of stolen gold and silver ornament traders at Nagaon Katimari, on the outskirts of the small town on Sunday night. Besides, police arrested two including a woman identified as Ume Kulsum and Gulzar Hussain. Police subsequently destroyed a factory of gold and silver ornaments at Kulsum’s house, sources said.
Sources claimed that Gulzar Hussain was a dreaded dacoit and involved long in robbery of gold as well as silver ornaments across the district and used to sell the valuable stolen ornaments at a lower price to Ume Kulsum for over years. Simultaneously, the arrested woman Kulsum remade the ornaments at her factory and used to sell them to some soft targeted customers at a comfortable price, sources said, adding that police also seized a huge cache of remade ornaments from her house during the operation.
Police registered a case in Haibargaon town outpost in this regard and further investigation is on, sources added.
