Sumit Sattawan takes charge as Tinsukia Commissioner

MARGHERITA, Jan 8: Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Sumit Sattawan on Wednesday joined as the new District Commissioner of Tinsukia. The 2015-batch officer assumed charge following a recent transfer order issued by the Assam government.

Prior to his posting in Tinsukia, Sumit Sattawan served as the District Commissioner of Lakhimpur and later Kamrup (Metropolitan) district. During his tenure in Kamrup (M), the district earned considerable reputation in various fields, which was widely attributed to his efficiency and administrative capability. According to the transfer order, Sumit Sattawan has been posted as the District Commissioner of Tinsukia, while Swapneel Paul has been appointed as the new District Commissioner of Kamrup (M) district.

After arriving in Tinsukia on Wednesday afternoon, the newly joined Commissioner participated in an election-related video conference, marking the beginning of his official duties in the district.
