A delegation from the TADCDC visited the flood-affected areas of 2 Number Toklong Madhupur under Khumchai Gaon Panchayat in the 83 Number Margherita constituency and distributed relief materials to over 100 tribal people.

The team, including noted social worker and TADCDC vice president Tehon Hakhun, general secretary and spokesperson Pallab Shyam Wailung, All Assam Mech Kachari Student Union Central Committee general secretary Dip Moina Mech, and a group of journalists from Margherita, distributed the relief materials.

Pallab Shyam Wailung remarked that the flood situation has worsened due to the overflow of water released from the controversial NHPC project Lower Subansiri located in Lakhimpur, which has resulted in widespread flooding across Assam.

Wailung also noted that neither the Margherita MLA, the Margherita sub-divisional administration (civil), nor any government officials have arrived to provide flood relief. He emphasised that without timely intervention, various diseases may arise, urging the state government to take preventive measures.
