Tezpur University Cultural Studies department declares poster competition results

TEZPUR, May 7: Department of Cultural Studies, Tezpur University declared the result of a poster making competition on Saturday which was organised on the occasion of World Heritage Day on the theme ‘Endangered Heritage’. The competition was held in two groups amongst the students of twelfth standard to post graduate and sixth standard to tenth standard.Kalpajyoti Bhuyan of Tezpur University bagged the first prize and Aditya Ankur Nath of Darrang College, Tezpur and Sujata Bayan, MCJ dept, Tezpur University bagged the second prize while Abinash Gogoi, Government College of Art and Craft, Guwahati was placed in third position in the upper section. In the lower section, Maharshi Sivam, KV, CUT placed in the first position and Jeetpal Bharali, Don Bosco High School secured second position. Sudarshana Saikia, Sankardeva Bidya Niketon, Jorhat and Bitopan Gogoi, Collegiate Jatiya Bidyalaya, Santak, Sibsagar bagged the third prize jointly. The department also organised an awareness programme on ‘Caring Heritage’ at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Tezpur University and Napam M V School with numerous programmes. Representing the department of cultural studies Dr Parasmoni Dutta, Dr Juri Gogoi Konwar and Dr Mousumi Kandali shouldered different responsibilities during the programme while Dr Subhra Devi hosted the entire programme in both the schools.
