Tinsukia, Nov 25: At least three people were killed in a deadly road crash at Makum in Assam’s Tinsukia district on May 25 early morning, after a night super bus and an ambulance collided head-on at Sukanpukhuri. The impact ripped the ambulance apart, leaving its three occupants dead on the spot and injuring several others who were rushed to nearby hospitals for urgent care.
The ambulance was reportedly carrying seven passengers when the crash took place. Their identities are yet to be confirmed, but officials say efforts are on to notify families and track the full chain of events. Police reached the site soon after the incident and have launched an investigation to find out how the collision occurred and whether speeding or visibility played a role.
The accident has sparked serious concern among commuters in the region, with many highlighting the recurring dangers along the busy Tinsukia–Makum route.
