Three-wheelers causing traffic snarl in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH, Sept 18: Three-wheelers have been causing a major traffic snarl in the upper Assam Dibrugarh town.
The traffic management system has failed miserably to control the growing three-wheelers in Dibrugarh town.
Sources said that there are over 1200 three-wheelers plying in Dibrugarh, causing major traffic congestion.
“They don’t follow the traffic rules and to pick their passengers they stop anywhere,” alleged a resident.
“Many three-wheelers do not own the permit to ply in Dibrugarh town but they forcefully enter their vehicle in the Dibrugarh town causing traffic snarls. The District Transport Office (DTO) should check the vehicles and cancel their permit immediately,” said Rajesh Saha, a concerned citizen.
“Dibrugarh district administration should allot a specific place for the parking of three-wheelers. Thana Chariali Road has become congested due to the parking of three-wheelers,” a businessman, who is facing the problem regularly, said.
