Titabar Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya students rough up juniors, principal assures action

JORHAT, Aug 7: An incident of a group of class 11 students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at Titabar in the district allegedly beating up a group of class 9 students on August 4 has come to light after guardians of the latter listed a complaint with the school authorities, on Saturday.
A source in the boarding school said that guardians of the students of class 9 arrived at the institute and lodged a complaint to the authorities regarding their wards being brutalised with belts and sticks.
The source said that the principal in-charge Shantilal Teli has taken note of the complaint and directed the disciplinary committee of the school to enquire into the charges and if found true, necessary action would be initiated.
One of the parents told newspersons that it was a case of ragging.
