BOKAJAN, Jan 3: Langkar-Om Eco Park (Garampani Wildlife Sanctuary) in Bokajan sub division of Karbi Anglong has been attracting a lot of tourists this winter. As the name suggests, the place is known for its hot springs. The place is managed by the Environment & Forest department of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC).
It is situated nearby NH 39 on Karbi Anglong and Golaghat districts border. It is believed that the water of the spring has medicinal properties and many claimed to have been cured of various diseases after taking bath there.
The KAAC has made the hot water spring area tourist-friendly by constructing amenities and managing them. For more efficient management of the environment around the hot water spring, the Environment & Forest department of KAAC has entrusted the responsibility to Range Forest Office, Silonijan, North Eastern Range, Karbi Anglong East Division. The department charges Rs 20 per person for visiting the area. The place recently has been receiving more than a thousand visitors every day.
