KOKRAJHAR, FEB 22: A two-day hands-on training on Lemon Culture and Entrepreneurship Development concluded at Science College in Kokrajhar on Saturday.
It was organised by the Institutional Biotech Hub of the college, the training aimed to equip UG and PG students, as well as budding entrepreneurs, with practical knowledge on lemon cultivation and business opportunities in the sector.
The programme was part of the ongoing DBT, GoI-sponsored project under the focus area, “Scientific approaches to develop Biopesticide for controlling Citrus diseases and Standardize the products obtained from Citrus limon (L.) Burm f.” Experts provided hands-on exposure to participants, fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among them.
A total of 25 participants, including UG and PG students and local entrepreneurs, took part in the training, which focused on scientific methods of lemon cultivation, disease management, and value-added product development.
The training programme emphasized on scientific methods of cultivation.
“We have gained knowledge and information about the scientific method of Lemon cultivation during the programme. We learnt knowledge and gathered skillful ideas on lemon cultivation”, said a participant.
