Training on post-harvest machineries concludes

GOSSAIGAON, Nov 4: A training programme on post-harvest machineries were organised at KVK, Gossaigaon on Friday, under the aegis of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kokrajhar and in collaboration with International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) under Assam Agribusiness & Rural Transformation Project (APART).
In the training programme, a total of 30 participants were present.
The welcome speech was presented by Narzina Parbin, APS, KVK, Kokrajhar.
Dr Sunil Kr. Paul (chief scientist RARS, Gossaigaon) gave an introductory speech regarding the programme while P.K Mahapatra lucidly explained about the uses of post-harvest machinery.
Akhoy Jyoti Bharadwaj, junior researcher, IRRI elaborated at length about the different processes that include technology and machineries which are being used for post-harvest operations and also discussed the advantages and disadvantages of machineries.
In the programme, Dr S.K. Paul, chief scientist RARS, Gossaigaon, Pooja Basumatary (SMS, Horticulture), Dr Muzaharul Islam (SMS, Animal Science), Priyanka Borah (SMS, Agronomy), Porna Sharma (Community Science), Partha Jyoti Borah (farm manager), Akshay Jyoti Bharadwaj (junior researcher, IRRI) and PK Mahapatra (research technician, IRRI) were present in the programme.
On the other hand, Sunil Pator, project associate; Narzina Parbin, assistant project scientist; Nasreen Hussain (CIP, APART) KVK, Kokrajhar graced the entire programme to make it a grand success. The training was closed with a vote of thanks by Sunil Pator (PA, APART).
