Training workshop underway

DEMOW, Dec 29: A two days training cum planning worship on sexual reproductive health and gender-based violence for group leaders and NYKS volunteers in Athabari GP office is underway from Thursday and will end on Friday.
The programme started with a welcome address and setting objectives by CINI Association officials. Under the presidentship of Aman Ullah Ahmed, district convenor and Lipika Dutta, convenor of Athabari Gaon Panchayat, the programme was organised in Athabari GP office on Thursday. Sanjay Prasad Sah, president of Sonapur Social Development Society, an NGO was present in the programme as resource person.
During the sessions, the people were made aware about the difference between sex and gender, sexuality and sexual behaviour, gender-based violence, adolescent health.
In the programme, Rijumoni Gogoi and Indrakshi Phukan – employees of the Social Welfare department of Sivasagar district, officials of Bhagya Lakshmi, an NGO, officials of Nehru Yuva Kendra along with the locals of the area were present.
