Transparency is the bedrock of good governance: CEM Pramod Boro

KOKRAJHAR, Dec 20: The completion of two-year of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) government under the leadership of Pramod Boro, chief executive member (CEM) of BTR was celebrated on Tuesday with a day-long colourful programme at Bodoland Territorial Region Secretariat Field, Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar.
Notably, the UPPL led UPPL-BJP-GSP alliance government in BTR was formed on December 15, 2020 and accordingly the BTR government celebrated the two-year completion in government with colourful programmes.
As part of the programme scheduled, a ‘Walk for Peace’ was organised on Tuesday morning which started in front of the BTR Secretariat complex.
On the occasion, the Governor of Assam Prof Jagadish Mukhi laid foundation for construction of Gurudham at Parbatjhora in memory of Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma, social reformer.
Speaker of Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly (BTCLA), Katiram Boro and BTR executive member, Daobaisa Boro flagged off the walk amidst huge presence of participants including elected members, BTC Secretariat officials and citizens. The walk was concluded at Kokrajhar Govt HS & MP School playground that traversed via JD Road, old flyover in Kokrajhar.
Chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro paid homage to Bodofa Upendranath Brahma at his samadhi sthal Thulungapuri Dotma.
Boro also offered tribute to Sujit Narzary, first martyr of Bodoland Movement at his tomb at Bhatipara followed by national flag hoisting at the complex of Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly building.
A departmental presentation of all line departments of BTR was presented on the occasion which has highlighted the activities carried out by different departments in the last two years. The presentation emphasised for bringing healthy welfare among the citizens across the region.
Persons from different backgrounds from the BTR districts who have achieved various awards in various levels including sports and successful entrepreneurs were also offered warm welcome and felicitation on the occasion with traditional ‘aronai’ and certificates.
The Governor of Assam, Prof Jagadish Mukhi graced the programme as chief guest and extended warm congratulations to the BTR government under the leadership of Pramod Boro for the completion of two-year of BTR government. He said that he appreciated Pramod Boro and his team for successful completion of two year in BTR government.
BJP national vice president Baijayant Jay Panda graced as special guest on the occasion. He congratulated BTR CEM Pramod Boro and his team.
Chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro while talking with this correspondent told that the BTR government has so far completed two years in its government. The CEM thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home minister Amit Shah, chief minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma for their kind cooperation and support while reigning the BTR government in the last two years.
He also extended his best wishes and greetings to all citizens of the BTR districts.
The senior officials of the BTR government gave presentations to the citizens of BTR, highlighting the significant achievements made by their respective departments in the last two years and the vision of the government for the future.
The CEM said, “Transparency is the bedrock of good governance.”
“It has been the policy of our people-centric government that we remain accountable to the citizens who have reposed their trust in us,” Boro added.
Assam cabinet minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma, Rajya Sabha MP Rwngwra Narzary graced as guests on the occasion.
