Tezpur, Oct 12: Tezpur’s popular artist Ratumoni Das, who has received the President’s Award, has created a stunning portrait of Assam’s beloved singer and cultural icon Zubeen Garg, painted in acrylic style.
With a masterful blend of colors and brushwork, Ratumoni Das has brought to life an exquisite 2.5-foot by 2-foot painting of the artist who lives in the hearts of the people of Tezpur. As the artist noted, only an artist can truly grasp the depth of another artist’s creation — and through her magical touch, Zubeen Garg’s image seems to come alive on the canvas.

Speaking to the media today, Ratumoni Das said that this painting is her tribute to the legendary musician Zubeen Garg. She also urged Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma to take strong and decisive steps to uncover the truth behind Zubeen Garg’s mysterious death.
She remarked that although Zubeen Garg is no longer with us physically, his creations will keep him alive forever among the people. Expressing concern over the suffocating atmosphere that has developed in the state following his tragic death and the heated discussions on social media that have descended to a toxic level, Ratumoni Das appealed to the Chief Minister to take firm measures to bring an end to this situation and ensure that justice is done.
