Kahoto Sema, president, and Kasto Sema, vice president of the All Assam Sema Naga Council, emphasised that the Tuluni festival holds immense sacredness for the Sema Naga community. It is celebrated annually at Longtong village to mark the beginning of the new season, the harvest of new crops, and historical victories. The festival, adorned with cultural performances, takes place during the beautiful monsoon season.

‘Tuluni’, referred to as ‘Anni’, signifies the season of abundant crops. This festival also symbolises reconciliation, unity, harmony, and communal celebration, transcending barriers of caste, creed, race, language, and religion, according to Kasto Sema.

Traditional cultural programs at the Tuluni festival include Ayekuzu Le by women’s groups, Atuna nanu pepu kuxu by youth groups, Lejole by men’s groups, and a traditional fashion show by Sunday school students, as highlighted by Kasto Sema, vice president of the All Assam Sema Naga Council.
