Two Arts stream students shine in Hojai

HOJAI, June 27: Two students of Hojai district brought laurels to the district by securing third and sixth position in Arts stream in Assam Higher Secondary Education Council Results 2022, the results of which were announced on Monday. Sudipta Debnath, student of Sankardev Junior College in Hojai has secured third Position in Arts stream. Her total mark is 483 and percentage is 96.60%. She is the daughter of Swapan Debnath and Rina Debnath. She will pursue graduation and will prepare for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination.
“Just like every year, our expectations were high from all the three streams. Unfortunately this year we missed the rank in Commerce stream just for one mark, anyways we are happy,” Tapan Kar, principal, Sankardev Junior College said to this correspondent. He said that the teachers regularly work with the students in order to help them achieve their dreams.
On the other hand, Md Shohid Ahmed Khandakar of Ajmal College of Arts, Science and Commerce secured sixth position in Arts stream. His total mark is 478 and percentage is 95.60%. He is the son of Md Sakib Ahmed Khandakar and Latifa Khanam Khandakar. Shohid wants to pursue law and work for the welfare of the society.
“Our teachers in all the Ajmal institutions works continuously with the students to make them all-arounder so that they can survive in any situation thereby exceling in life and contribute to nation building,” said Khasrul Islam, director, Ajmal Foundation while talking to this correspondent. He added, “We are happy with the results.”
“The mantra to excel in any examination is to work hard with dedication, consistency, and more importantly to follow the instruction of teachers properly and avoid distractions,” said the toppers.
Notably, in Hojai district from Arts Stream 3876 students appeared out of which 820 secured first division, 1221 second, 1056 third, total passed 3097 and pass percentage is 79.90%; from Commerce stream 483 appeared out of which 204 secured first division, 63 second, 60 third, total passed 427 and pass percentage is 88.41% and from Science stream 1153 appeared out of which 839 secured first, 222 second, 18 third division, total passed 1079 and pass percentage is 93.58%. The denizens of Hojai district are very happy with the achievement of the students.
