JORHAT, Sept 24: Two persons Abhinandan Gogoi and Putu Basfor of Mission Compound here were arrested and sent to jail on Saturday on charges of spreading fake news on social media regarding a child lifter.
A source said that on Thursday, a person from Bokakhat had been roughed up at Rowriah here on suspicion of being a child lifter.
His photo was also clicked and uploaded on social media as a child lifter by the duo.
