UPPL-BJP-GSP alliance government eyes better governance

KOKRAJHAR,May 30: The UPPL led UPPL-BJP-GSP alliance government in Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) has been emphasising for the better governance in Bodoland region for the welfare of the citizens and for building up peace among its citizens.
Addressing the reporters on Monday, at a press conference held in Sombagan Complex, near Lakhibazar in Koklabari, BTR executive members and BTR government spokespersons Wilson Hasda, Gautam Das and Sidli MLA Jayanta Basumatary said that since the inception of the BTR government in Bodoland Territorial Region districts, the UPPL-BJP-GSP alliance government have been rendering services for the welfare of the common masses with dedication.
Hasda said that the UPPL-BJP-GSP alliance government is committed to work for the welfare and development of the region to bring healthy development in the BTR districts.
Hasda said that as per the budget source received from the state government and Central government, the BTR government has been putting an emphasis on bringing more resources from different governmental agencies to pave the way for massive development and for the greater interest of the citizens in the region.
Hasda and Das have denied the BPF party’s allegations levelled against the UPPL-BJP-GSP alliance government in BTR government and said that the BTR government has initiated several welfare steps for the society with positive spirit.
They alleged that the previous BPF government in BTR had indulged nearly 3000 crores of liabilities in different departments as a gift to the UPPAL-BJP-GSP alliance government in Bodoland Territorial Region in their 17 year rule.
They said that the BPF party had failed to extend services to the common masses.
“Due to BPF’s insincerity, today, the BTR government is facing severe problems of liabilities and accordingly we are trying to resolve the liabilities cases by adopting necessary strategies,” Hasda said.
He informed that the BTR government has so far decided to extend ex-gratia to the martyrs’ families of ex-NDFB leaders and cadres and a fund has been allotted from the government.
He said that till date, NDFB cadres were receiving a rehabilitation package of Rs 4 lakh through the spirit of BTR accord clauses from the state and BTR government.
“All clauses of the BTR accord have been implemented since after its historic signing in a tripartite peace talks. Several new institutions and developmental activities are about to begin through the spirit of BTR accord including Medical College at Tamulpur, BSF armoury factory, etc., are coming up,” Hasda said.
He said that the BTR government has so far offered jobs to the victim family members who were killed at an encounter at Ultapani area in Kokrajhar district on September 18, 2021 and extended financial assistance to the victim family.
“With the bringing of healthy relations and cooperation in Bodoland region, the DCs of the BTR districts have been assigned as secretaries (partial) to monitor the developmental activities on several line departments. The government is working dedicatedly for the welfare society,” Hasda said, adding that the BTR government has not transferred any existing departments to the state government.
The BTR government spokespersons denied the allegations levelled against the BTR government, saying that it is a politically motivated statement to woo the common masses in the region.
Hasda and Das expressed their confidence in the UPPL-BJP-GSP alliance party’s candidate Mantu Boro from the Koklabari constituency bypoll and that a huge number of voters are waiting to vote in favour of UPPL-BJP-GSP alliance party’s candidate.
