UPPL Eyes To Plant 10 Lakh Saplings In BTR

KOKRAJHAR, Aug 3:
 The celebrations concerning the journey of seven years of ruling United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) began on Thursday with a two-day colourful programme scheduled across the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) districts to mark the 7th Foundation Day of the UPPL party.
Notably, the UPPL party was founded on August 5, 2015 at Dotma Rongjashali in Kokrajhar district under the presidentship of Urkhao Gwra Brahma (now Assam cabinet minister).
As part of the first day of the foundation day celebration, a massive tree plantation drive was carried out in entire Bodoland Territorial Region districts.
More than 5 lakh saplings were planted across BTR by UPPL workers and members in all district headquarters, block level and primary committees in the region and 5 lakh trees would be planted within a few days of the August month itself.
UPPL president and BTR CEM, Pramod Boro joined hands in a tree plantation drive organised at Souraguri LP School in Tamulpur and planted saplings along with other party members in the presence of school students.
Boro extended his congratulations and greetings to all citizens of the region on the eve of 7th foundation day of the UPPL party.
“I am very glad to take part in the tree plantation drive at Souraguri LP School here on the eve of UPPL’s 7th foundation day celebration,” he said.
In Kokrajhar, a plantation drive was carried out and huge numbers of saplings were planted at Chandrapara ME School playground in Kokrajhar.
Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) executive member and UPPL general secretary, Dr Nilut Swargiary, Kokrajhar district committee, BJP president Raj Kumar Brahma, in presence of Raju Kumar Narzary, UPPL general secretary, planted the saplings.
In Gossaigaon, a tree plantation programme was organised by Raimona Primary Committee of UPPL under the leadership of Saraibil Block Committee, UPPL which was taken up on the directions of the central committee and guided by the Gossaigaon district committee. UPPL Central Committee organising secretary Murshida Begum, UPPL Youth Wing president Somnath Narzary, TCLCC vice chairman Ranjan Basumatary & UPPL party workers were present during the occasion.
The Chirang District Committee of UPPL party planted saplings at various places in the district while the Bijni District Committee of UPPL party carried out a tree plantation programme at South Gargaon village where several hundred saplings were planted.
The Mushalpur District Committee of UPPL party carried out a tree plantation drive at Daragaon under Dihira block which was jointly organised by Mushalpur District Committee and Dihira block committee of UPPL.
Reports reached out so far till the filing of this report that several district committees of the UPPL party have carried out sapling plantation drives in their respective places in connection with the UPPL party’s foundation day celebration.
