KHERONI, Aug 23: Wild elephants damaged several houses in Kachari Basti under Kheroni police station, under Southern Forest Range of Kheroni on Monday night.

The elephants raided the houses for food and ate up the rice in the process they damaged houses, rice, utensils, garments and valuable documents. The houses of Binod Yadav, Biju Barman and Indrajit Mazumdar of Kachari Basti were pulled down and the houses of Raju Bishwakarma and Ganesh Bishwakarma of Nepali Basti suffered a similar fate.
