DIBRUGARH, March 31: A two-day workshop on patenting Innovations and Intellectual Property Rights organised by the Dibrugarh University Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell concluded successfully on Wednesday. The Patent Information Centre of Assam Science Technology and Environment Council (ASTEC), Government of Assam supported the IPR Cell of Dibrugarh University in organising the workshop.
The inaugural session of the workshop held on March 29 last was chaired by Prof Dipak Chetia, the chairperson of the IPR Cell. Meanwhile, the workshop was formally inaugurated by Prof LK Nath, the vice-chancellor i/c of Dibrugarh University.
The session was attended by the faculty members of the university along with 60 registered participants in the presence of Prof MN Dutta, Dr Rupam Saikia, Debasish Dutta from ASTEC, Guwahati.
The resource persons who delivered lectures on different aspects of intellectual property rights were Dr Rupam Saikia, chairperson, Centre for Juridical Studies, Dibrugarh University; Debasish Dutta, scientist of Patent Information Centre, ASTEC, Guwahati; Dr Mukul Chandra Bora, director, Dibrugarh University Institute Engineering and Technology; Prof Purna K Barua and Prof Kishore Kr Sharma of Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat.
The valedictory session of the workshop was held on March 30, with Prof Kalyan Bhuyan, director, Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the university gracing the program as the chief guest.
