Workshop on NEP 2020 held at Biswanath College

BISWANATH CHARIALI, April 26:
 As a part of preparedness towards implementation of NEP 2020, a one day workshop on implementation of NEP 2020 in the curriculum of Gauhati University was organised on Wednesday at Biswanath College.
The session was chaired by Dr Chintamani Sharma, principal of the college and compered by Dr Naresh Thakur, coordinator, IQAC of the college, was graced by Professor Madhurjya Prasad Bora, nodal officer, NEP Implementation Academic Committee and director, IQAC Gauhati University as the distinguished resource person. In the welcome speech by the chairperson, Dr Chintamani Sharma expresses his views regarding the complexities of implementation of NEP 2020 in the Higher Education Institutions.
Deliberating with faculties in an interactive mode, Professor Madhurjya Prasad Bora delivered a very detailed speech regarding the four year under-graduate programme. He also dwelt about course structure, credit mechanism, major and minor programmes in detail.
“The process of multiple entry and exit, honours with research in the fourth year, the vibrant skill enhancement courses under NEP will definitely enhance the higher educational ecosystem in the upcoming years,” he said. The resource person also expressed the probable limitations in terms of infrastructure, faculty strength in the higher educational institutions while implementing the same.
Organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the college, the workshop was attended by more than hundred faculties not only from the host institution but also from the nearby colleges such as Rangapara College, THB College, Chatia College, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Adarsha Mahavidyalaya, Behali Degree College, Chaiduar College, Biswanath Commerce College and Kalabari College. The session witnessed overwhelming response from the participant faculties.
