World Fishery Day observed

SIVASAGAR, Nov 23: Fishery departments of Upper Assam districts observed World Fishery Day in Sivasagar Yuva Dal Auditorium with a day-long programme on Monday.
Eight fish farmers were felicitated for contributing to the local economy through aqua-culture. Two beneficiaries were given three-wheelers to make their products accessible to the local markets.
The meeting was attended among others by AV Yadav, DC, Sivasagar, Aswini Doley, president, Zila Parishad, Ramchandra Thowsen, district fishery officer, Bolin Chetia, DAO, Silpika Gogi, fishery officer, and Biplob Kour, fishery inspector, Sivasagar.
