GOSSAIGAON, May 9: On the occasion of Rabindra Jayanti, like other parts of the state, the world poet Rabindranath Tagore was also remembered on his 162nd birth anniversary here at Gossaigaon Nat Mandir on Tuesday followed by floral tributes and lit of lamps to the portrait of Rabindranath Tagore.
Organised under the aegis of All BTR Bengali Youth Students Federation, a cultural procession was also carried out starting from Gossaigaon Nat Mandir and toured the entire town where students from different schools within Gossaigaon sub-division and local people were seen taking part in the procession.
In this regard, a cultural programme was also organised at the premises of Gossaigaon Nat Mandir followed by floral tributes to the portrait. In the program, school students as well as local artists recited Rabindra Sangeet and enthralled the audiences.
Besides Sajal Kumar Singha, MCLA 3 No. Srirampur BTC constituency, Wilson Hasda, EM, BTC and other UPPL leaders as well as workers from All BTR Bengali Youth Students Federation were also seen gracing the programme.
