GOSSAIGAON, Oct 8: In a noble effort, to create awareness about environment among the masses and the surrounding neighbouring state, Chhattisgarh youth, Yogesh Kumar Markam started a bicycle tour with the theme ‘Green India, Clean India’.
Yogesh Kumar Markam, a resident of Likowa village from Dhantori district of Chattisgarh was given a warm welcome by the students’ organisation in Gossaigaon for his noble efforts.
He said that he has already travelled 12,500 km surpassing 18 states. He started his journey to create awareness among the masses on March 26, 2022 and reached Gossaigaon on Saturday.
The main purpose of the journey is to make India – ‘green and clean’ and plant more saplings for the greater interest of future generations,” he added.
In the days to come, to create awareness, he will cover north-east states like Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, etc.
He also urged the people to use bicycles as a means of transport and for keeping themselves fit instead of riding motorcycles which causes air pollution.
