GUWAHATI, Oct 27: Axis Bank, one of India’s leading private sector banks, partnered with the India SME Forum to host the 10th edition of the India SME 100 Awards. The event recognized and honored outstanding Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) for their remarkable contributions and achievements in the SME industry. Distinguished guests, including Narayan Rane, Hon’ble Union Minister of MSME, Government of India, Amitabh Chaudhry, MD & CEO of Axis Bank, and other notable figures, graced the occasion.
Axis Bank and India SME Forum presented awards to 54 medium-sized, 36 small, and 10 micro segment enterprises from various sectors, including automobile components, engineering products, food processing, and textiles. The state of Maharashtra dominated the list with 15 MSMEs receiving awards, followed by Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, New Delhi, and Gujarat. The awards received over 32,000 unique nominations from MSMEs across the country, and the winners were selected by a distinguished jury panel based on criteria like growth performance, financial strength, innovation, people capital, international outlook, and corporate excellence.
Amitabh Chaudhry, MD & CEO of Axis Bank, expressed his pride in recognizing MSMEs’ exceptional contributions to India’s economic growth. He emphasized the importance of MSMEs in improving production methods, embracing innovation, and modern management practices. Axis Bank remains committed to supporting and facilitating the growth of India’s vibrant MSMEs, Chaudhry added.
This event, known for acknowledging India’s top-performing MSMEs, serves as a platform for discussions on empowering entrepreneurs, fostering rural development, and India’s journey toward becoming a global economic powerhouse.
