NEW DELHI, May 19: Egyptian national carrier EgyptAir today announced expansion of its Cairo-New Delhi service to daily from current four flights a week.

“This milestone comes on the heels of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Egypt last year, which further strengthened the ties between the two nations. Shortly after his visit, EgyptAir inaugurated its first direct flight from Cairo to New Delhi, marking a significant step in bolstering travel and cultural exchange,” the airline said.

Amr Aly, Country Manager, EgyptAir said that since the launch of the direct flight last year the airline has witnessed a notable increase in travel, business, and cultural exchanges between Egypt and India.

“This move to daily flights is set to further augment these ties,” Aly said.

The African carrier operates A320 neo aircraft on the Cairo-Delhi route. Its fleet includes eight A320neos, with an average age of just 1.8 years. Additionally, the airline’s fleet boasts six Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, with two more expected in the coming years.

“This (higher frequency on Delhi-Cairo sector) expansion aligns with the African nation’s Ministry of Civil Aviation’s directives to enhance Egypt’s connectivity with the world through Cairo’s hub,” the airline said.
