GUWAHATI, July 27: India is grappling with a growing epidemic of infertility, affecting approximately 1 in 6 couples who struggle to conceive. Unfortunately, infertility is often overlooked as a critical health condition, leading to delays in diagnosis and treatment and exacerbating the burden of the disease. Despite medical advancements like IVF (in-vitro fertilization) offering hope to couples facing infertility, the condition remains largely untreated.

World IVF Day, celebrated on July 25 each year, highlights the success and significance of IVF as an effective method of conception. The World Health Organization (WHO) defines infertility as a disease caused by various factors, including physiological, hormonal, genetic, and lifestyle aspects. Despite the multifaceted causes, individuals tend to internalize infertility as a personal failure. Raising awareness about infertility, dispelling social stigma and misconceptions, and educating patients about comprehensive treatments, including IVF, are crucial steps to address the issue.

Dr. Kalpana Jain, Consultant at Birla Fertility & IVF, emphasized the need to eradicate misconceptions and stigmas surrounding infertility in India. Less than 1% of couples seek medical consultation or treatment due to the lack of awareness, high treatment costs, and limited availability of quality services. Birla Fertility & IVF aims to build awareness and provide reliable and affordable fertility treatments with a unique clinical approach that emphasizes improving the overall fertility health of couples under one roof.

Affordable fertility solutions, particularly IVF, can be transformative for patients. IVF offers hope to childless couples, allowing them to have a biological child when other treatments have failed. As the burden of infertility rises in the country, it is essential to make IVF more accessible and affordable to a larger segment of the population.

Birla Fertility & IVF is committed to delivering clinically reliable treatments, transparent and affordable costs, and compassionate and trustworthy care to patients. The venture has achieved industry-leading outcomes, boasting high pregnancy rates of up to 85% and earning over 95% patient satisfaction scores in a short span of time.
