GUWAHATI, Dec 27: The co-founders of Lime Jhatka, Ritesh Agarwal and Vikram Sharma, were honoured with the Startup Award at an event celebrating New Age Startups in Indore, Madhya Pradesh recently.
The recognition was presented by the honourable minister of civil aviation, Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu.
The journey of Lime Jhatka began with a personal mission. Ritesh and Vikram, hailing from small towns in Bengal, wanted to provide a healthier alternative to traditional sodas. They launched Lime Jhatka just before the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to an official statement, the pandemic brought unexpected challenges, including market closures and rising costs. However, the duo persisted and restructured their strategy, focusing on ethnic Indian drinks and targeting the eastern states. Their efforts paid off, with Lime Jhatka achieving record-breaking sales and a growing presence in new markets.
“Lime Jhatka’s unique blend of Indian spices and herbs sets it apart in the competitive soft drinks segment. The brand has earned the trust and loyalty of consumers, with repeat orders exceeding 60% even in newly launched markets,” the statement said.
“Ritesh and Vikram’s success story is a testament to the power of vision and determination. Coming from small towns in Bengal, they have shown that big dreams can emerge from modest beginnings. Their journey highlights the importance of dedication and grit in transforming aspirations into reality”, it further said.
