DIPHU, Feb. 21: A petrol pump, M/s Singhason Service Station, Indian Oil Limited located near APDCL office at Diphu-Manja Highway road has been inaugurated at Diphu town. The proprietor is Lindalee Teronpi.
Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang inaugurated the fuel pump and said it is encouraging to see a Karbi woman entrepreneur operating a fuel pump.
“It is good for the people of Karbi Anglong that a women entrepreneur has come out and urged women to be self-reliant and independent,” he said.
Mukul Kathar, Secretary, KAAC, spouse of the owner said, “My wife Lindalee Teronpi applied to the advertisement by Indian Oil Ltd in 2016. Diphu town has now been developed and the number of vehicles has increased at the same time, the flyover construction is going on. People are facing difficulties to refill fuel so for the convenience of people we have set up the petrol pump within a short stipulated time. It will provide service 24X7. During the day women staff will be engaged while at night men will work”.
The inaugural program was attended by the Executive Member of KAAC, Amarsing Tisso and others.
