GUWAHATI, May 8: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) will operate a one-time special summer train between Howrah and New Jalpaiguri on May 10, 2025, to accommodate increased passenger traffic during the summer season.
According to an official statement, train no. 03039 will depart from Howrah at 12:10 a.m. on May 10 and reach New Jalpaiguri at 10:45 a.m. the same day.
The return train, no. 03040, will leave New Jalpaiguri at 12:45 p.m. and arrive in Howrah at 12:10 a.m. the following day.
The 20-coach train will travel via Aluabari Road, Barsoi, Jangipur Road, Azimganj Junction, and Bandel.
In addition, the NFR has extended the services of summer special trains 07046/07047 (Charlapalli–Naharlagun–Charlapalli) for four more trips in each direction.
Train no. 07046 will run until May 31, while train no. 07047 will operate until June 3, 2025, following their existing schedules and stoppages.
These measures aim to improve connectivity and ease travel pressure across key routes in the Northeast and beyond.
